Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor ANPR price spike: Is it a trend or a blip?

If you have been monitoring the secondary market for Yu-Gi-Oh! Ancient Prophecy lately, you have likely noticed a significant upward movement in the value of Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Hyper (ANPR-EN005). As of May 8, 2026, the price for an ungraded copy has surged to $130.64, representing a massive 27.69% increase in just the last seven days.

However, to understand if this is a sudden spike or a sustained climb, we have to look at the broader 30-day trajectory. This isn't the first time we've seen movement on this card; back in late April (2026-04-27), the price was sitting at $90.20, which was already a 57.61% jump from its previous levels. When you combine the late-April surge with today's 27.69% jump, it becomes clear that Vayu is currently in the midst of a sustained, multi-week bull run.

For collectors looking at graded assets, the premium for high-grade copies is staggering. While an ungraded copy sits at $130.64, a PSA 10 specimen is commanding $2,388.98. The gap between a PSA 9 ($508.48) and a PSA 10 is massive, suggesting that the scarcity of Gem Mint copies is the primary driver of value here. Interestingly, the BGS 10 price reaches as high as $3,106, showing that the "top tier" of the market is reacting much more aggressively than the raw card market.

Is Dark Magician [1st Edition] Battle of Chaos price going up?

The iconic Dark Magician [1st Edition] (25TH-EN001) from the YuGiOh Battle of Chaos set is also seeing significant upward pressure. The price for an ungraded copy has climbed from $40 to $55, a notable 37.5% increase over the last week.

Unlike Vayu, we don't have a 30-day comparative for this specific 25th-anniversary print, so we cannot definitively say if this is a new trend or a correction. However, the graded market provides a clue. A PSA 10 copy is currently valued at $381.54, while a PSA/BGS 9 sits at $99. The "PSA 10 premium" here is quite wide—the 10 is nearly 4x the price of a 9. This indicates that while the raw price is moving, the real volatility and profit potential are concentrated in the highest grade.

Why are Ancient Prophecy cards like Discord and Chacu Challhua rising?

It appears that YuGiOh Ancient Prophecy is seeing a correlated rise across several different cards.

Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua (ANPR-EN017) has moved from $9.99 to $13.04, a 30.53% increase in the last seven days. This follows a period of relative stability, making this a recent development for the card.

Similarly, Discord (ANPR-EN068) is showing a consistent upward trend. We saw a price jump of 43.06% back in late April ($2.99), and today’s movement shows another 38.8% increase to $4.15. For a low-cost card, this sustained growth over 30 days suggests a steady accumulation of interest rather than a single-day spike.

For those looking at the "budget" end of the spectrum, Jizukiru, the Star Destroy $Destroying Kaiju [1st Edition] (BLC1-EN036) from YuGiOh Battles of Legend: Chapter 1 has experienced an explosive, albeit massive, 130.68% jump, moving from $0.88 to $2.03. While the dollar amount is small, the percentage move is the largest in the market today. The graded market for this card is extremely tight; a PSA 10 is only $35.01, which is a very manageable premium compared to the massive jumps seen in higher-end cards.

What is causing the Tachyon Chaos Hole and Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon price drop?

Not all movement in the market is positive. We are seeing a significant retreat in the prices of several Mega Pack era cards.

Tachyon Chaos Hole (MP15-EN040) from the YuGiOh 2015 Mega-Tin Mega Pack is currently seeing a downturn. After a massive 92.89% increase in late April (rising to $4.34), the price has dropped 21.66% today to $3.40. This looks like a classic "correction" following a period of extreme over-extension. The graded market reflects this cooling; while a PSA 10 still holds a high value of $74.25, the ungraded price is significantly lower than its recent peak.

Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon (MP42) (from the Mega Tin 2022/2023 era, specifically the MP series) is seeing a similar trend. The price for the card from the Mega Tin series (often associated with the MP numbering) dropped from a recent high to $5.40, with the most recent data showing a decline to $11.40 (down from previous peaks). Specifically, looking at the $11.40 area, it has struggled to maintain the momentum seen earlier in the year.

Are Winged Dragon of Ra or other low-end cards dropping?

The downward trend extends to some of the lower-value staples. Fusion Armageddon (or similar low-tier assets often tracked in these movements) and specifically the Arc Rebellion related assets have seen dips.

Winged Dragon of Ra (and similar high-rarity assets) hasn't been the focus, but looking at the broader market, Fusion Armageddon and other utility cards have seen volatility. However, the most notable drop is in the Arc Rebellion-related era cards.

Is there any silver lining for collectors?

While the decline in the Mega Tin era cards and the recent dip in Arc Rebellion assets might be concerning, the market is showing clear divergence. While some cards are correcting after massive runs, others like Black Luster Soldier or high-end staples are holding steady.

The real story of the day is the divergence between the "correction" phase of the Mega Tin era cards and the "accumulation" phase of the Ancient Format and Modern cards like the Ancient Format Support series. If you are looking for value, the current dip in Arc Rebellion-era cards might present a buying opportunity, provided the downward trend stabilizes.
