Understanding Event Types

- Hobbystation Fest — Free entry, official PACS Great Ball League on Day 2, Pikachu Meet & Greet, cosplay, TCG Academia booths.
Pop Culture Conventions (TCG Zone)
Large conventions with a dedicated trading card zone among broader pop culture programming. Best for casual collectors and fans who want more than just cards.

Pro Collector Tips
Negotiation Strategies
- Bring cash — many vendors prefer cash for better deals
- Bundle multiple cards from the same vendor for discounts
- Reference international market prices (eBay, TCGPlayer) casually as leverage
- At multi-day events, Day 2 afternoon tends to yield the best negotiation window
- Build rapport — Indonesian vendor culture values relationship over pure price haggling
What to Bring
- Cash (IDR) — widely preferred; some vendors also accept QRIS/GoPay/OVO
- Toploaders and penny sleeves for your purchases
- Want list saved on your phone
- Power bank (for QRIS payments and price lookups)
- Water and light snacks — event halls can get crowded and hot
- A sturdy backpack with secure closures
Best Times to Visit
- Multi-day events: arrive early on Day 1 for best card selection
- Day 2 late afternoon: vendor inventory is lighter but negotiating flexibility increases
- Avoid peak hours (12pm–3pm) at mall-based events — lunch crowds are heavy
- For PACS Gym Battles, register online in advance — slots fill quickly at popular shops
Security & Safety
- Use a front-loading or zipped backpack in crowded halls
- Don't display high-value cards openly while browsing
- Photo-document expensive purchases before leaving the event
- Split your cash — carry spending money separately from your main wallet
- Use official Gojek/Grab for transportation to avoid unlicensed drivers near venues
