What Is Pokémon 30th Anniversary?
Pokémon 30th Anniversary (the community calls it "30th Celebration") is an English-language celebration set released on 16 September 2026. It is built on nostalgia: a 30-card subset of holo Pikachu by 30 different artists, plus 30 gold-border vintage reprints.
Every pack holds 5 cards, and one of them is always a holo Pikachu. That is the set’s floor, not its chase — 100% of the 652 packs in our sample had one. What decides whether your pack was worth opening is the secondary hit on top of that Pikachu.
Pack Structure & What You Get
- 5 cards per pack — one always a holo Pikachu from the 30-card subset
- 128-card base set, with secret rares numbered above 128
- Booster-box pack count is still unconfirmed — so every figure here is per pack, not per box
43.1% of packs contained only the Pikachu and nothing else. That means roughly 56.9% of packs carried a secondary hit — an ex, IR, classic reprint, SIR or FUR.
Pull-Rate Data: 652 Packs
| Rarity | Count | % per Pack | Roughly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holo Pikachu (guaranteed) | 652 | 100% | every pack |
| Standard ex (Double Rare) | 143 | 21.9% | ~1 in 4.6 packs |
| IR (Illustration Rare) | 120 | 18.4% | ~1 in 5–6 packs |
| Classic reprint (gold border) | 64 | 9.8% | ~1 in 10 packs |
| SIR (Special Illustration Rare) | 36 | 5.5% | ~1 in 18 packs |
| FUR (YOSHIROTTEN) | 8 | 1.2% | ~1 in 82 packs |
| Pikachu only (no secondary hit) | 281 | 43.1% | ~2 in 5 packs |
The sample is the aggregate of several verified openings, not one hot run. Every pack was narrated card by card — "hits only" videos were rejected, because they cannot tell you the blank-pack rate.
Key findings
- The guaranteed floor really is a floor. One holo Pikachu per pack, 652 out of 652 — but that 30-card subset trades under $3 a copy, so it is not value.
- ex is the most common secondary hit at 21.9%, with IR close behind at 18.4%.
- Classic reprints turn up in about 1 pack in 10 — you do not need an Ultra Premium Collection to hit them.
- FUR is a lottery, not a plan. 8 in 652 packs. Both Mewtwo ex and Mew ex have now appeared.
- The Mew (Red/Green/Blue) cards are confirmed pack-pullable, but only one is documented, in a separately reported ~4,000-pack opening — existence is settled, the rate is not.
Chase Cards & Market Prices
Here is the surprise in this set: the most valuable cards are gold-border reprints, not modern chases. Prices are TCGplayer market prices as of 3 October 2026, converted to PHP at live rates.
| Card | Rarity | Set Number | USD | PHP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lugia | Classic Collection | 149/147 | $230.82 | ₱ 14,452 |
| Charizard | Classic Collection | 4 | $191.00 † | ₱ 11,959 |
| Magikarp | Classic Collection | 203 | $117.63 † | ₱ 7,365 |
| Mew ex | SIR | 152/128 | $98.76 | ₱ 6,183 |
| Gengar ex | SIR | 154/128 | $93.59 | ₱ 5,860 |
| Gengar | Classic Collection | 94 | $85.40 † | ₱ 5,347 |
| Pikachu ex | SIR | 150/128 | $77.18 | ₱ 4,832 |
| Mew ex (YOSHIROTTEN) | FUR | 158/128 | $73.88 | ₱ 4,626 |
| Mewtwo ex (YOSHIROTTEN) | FUR | 157/128 | $72.61 † | ₱ 4,546 |
| Maushold | IR | 146/128 | $12.44 | ₱ 779 |
The YOSHIROTTEN FUR pair are the rarest cards you can realistically chase — but only the eighth and ninth most valuable in the set. Rarity and price are not the same thing here.
Rows marked † come from PriceCharting’s market average because they were not in the TCGplayer capture; on this set PriceCharting runs 1.1×–2.6× higher, so treat a † figure as an upper bound. The Mew (Red/Green/Blue) trio ask roughly $3,600–$4,000, but those are asking prices, not confirmed sales — one has sat pinned at exactly $4,000 for a fortnight.
Sealed Product Prices
The pre-launch premium has largely unwound: 17 of 22 products are down on the August snapshot, several by 40–57%. All five that rose carry a guaranteed hit. These are import prices, so add shipping and local duties on top.

Open or Buy Singles?
Open if:
- You want the 30-artist Pikachu subset — one per pack fills it fast
- You enjoy the variance and are fine with 43% of packs being Pikachu-only
- You are chasing classic reprints in general rather than one specific card
Buy singles if:
- You want the gold-border Lugia or Charizard — at ~1 pack in 10 across a 30-card pool, chasing one through packs makes no sense
- You want a specific FUR — 1.2% per pack, and two cards in that pool
- You want any specific SIR — 5.5% per pack split across ten SIRs
The numbers on chasing one specific classic reprint
- Observed classic-reprint rate: 9.8% per pack
- Reprints in the pool: 30
- Chance of hitting one named card: roughly 1 in 306 packs
- At ~$17 a pack that is over $5,000 for a single card — singles are the obvious call
Frequently Asked Questions
Does every 30th Anniversary pack have a holo Pikachu?
Yes. Every one of the 652 packs in our sample contained exactly one holo Pikachu from the 30-card / 30-artist subset. It is a guarantee, not a pull rate.
What is the FUR pull rate in 30th Anniversary?
Eight FUR in 652 packs — about 1.2% per pack, or roughly 1 in 82 packs. Both the YOSHIROTTEN Mewtwo ex and Mew ex are confirmed pack-pullable.
What is the most expensive card in the set?
Setting aside the barely-traded Mew RGB trio, the gold-border Lugia (149/147) is the most valuable at around $231, followed by Charizard at about $191. Both are reprints, not modern cards.
How often do you get an SIR?
36 SIRs in 652 packs — 5.5% per pack, or about 1 in 18. There are ten SIRs in the set (147–156), so the odds on any one named SIR are far longer.
Can the Red/Green/Blue Mew really be pulled from a pack?
Yes, its existence is confirmed — one is documented in a separately reported ~4,000-pack opening. But a single pull does not give you a rate: the 95% interval around it spans roughly 1 in 700 to 1 in 158,000.
What percentage of packs contain nothing but the Pikachu?
281 of 652 packs, or 43.1%. So roughly 56.9% of packs carried at least one secondary hit.
Disclaimer: Pull rates are community estimates recorded from 652 verified pack openings and carry real variance in the rare tiers. Single prices are a 3 October 2026 TCGplayer snapshot converted at live exchange rates — a three-week-old set still moves fast, so verify current prices before buying or selling. Prices exclude shipping, import duties and local taxes. This is not financial advice.
