What Is Chaos Rising?

Chaos Rising is the English-language Pokémon TCG set releasing on 22 May 2026, based on the Japanese set Ninja Spinner (M4). It is part of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A era, reintroducing Mega Evolutions to the TCG — with Mega Greninja ex as the headline card.

The set contains 83 base cards with secret rares up to 120/083. The rarity ladder runs from standard ex through IR, UR, SIR, and the Master Hyper Rare (MHR) Mega Greninja ex at 120/083. For Filipino collectors, Chaos Rising will be widely available at local card shops and online marketplaces, typically priced at import rates from SG or direct from distributors.

Beyond Greninja, the set includes Mega Floette ex, Mega Dragalge ex, Cinccino ex, and the competitively relevant Special Red Card — already dominating Japanese tournament lists.

Box Contents & Pack Structure

  • Booster Box — 36 packs per box, 10 cards per pack
  • Booster Bundle — 6 packs per bundle, 10 cards per pack
  • Single packs — 10 cards per pack

Not every pack guarantees an ex. In our 168-pack sample, 97 packs (57.7%) yielded only a regular Rare. Plan your budget accordingly — a booster box will average around 8 ex cards, 4 IRs, and 2–3 full arts.

This sample's breakdown

  • 3 booster boxes — 108 packs
  • 3 booster bundles — 18 packs
  • 42 loose single packs

Should You Open or Buy Singles?

Open if:

  • You enjoy the opening experience and are happy with ~8 ex and ~4 IRs per box
  • You want to collect the full set including regulars and reverse holos
  • You are hunting the Froakie–Frogadier–Greninja connected art triptych

Buy singles if:

  • You want Mega Greninja ex SIR (₱16,762) or MHR (₱28,768) — opening boxes to find either will cost far more at Philippine prices
  • You want any specific SIR: odds of hitting a specific SIR are ~1 in 30 boxes
  • You want Special Red Card for competitive play — at ₱58, always buy the single

The numbers on chasing Mega Greninja ex SIR

  • Observed SIR rate: ~1 per 5 boxes (0.6% per pack)
  • Number of SIRs in set: 6 (cards 114–119/083)
  • Odds of hitting specifically Greninja SIR: ~1 in 30 boxes
  • The MHR (120/083) is rarer still — single is the only sensible path

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every Chaos Rising pack have an ex?

No. From our 168-pack sample, 97 packs (57.7%) yielded only a regular Rare — no ex or above. Expect roughly 1 ex hit per 4–5 packs on average.

Is the Froakie triptych hard to complete?

With ~4 IRs per box and multiple IRs in the pool, completing all three triptych pieces from a single box is unlikely. Buy the missing pieces as singles to complete it efficiently.

What is the MHR (Master Hyper Rare) in Chaos Rising?

The MHR is Mega Greninja ex (120/083) — the alternate full-art version, priced at approximately ₱28,768. Zero were pulled in our 168-pack sample. Always buy this one as a single.

Is Cinccino ex good for competitive play?

Cinccino ex's Smooth Coat ability flips a coin when it takes damage — heads prevents that damage. It has seen play in Japanese formats and is worth watching as the English meta develops.
