2026 is being called the year of the card for Thailand — card expos and TCG tradeshows in Bangkok have increased dramatically over prior years. Add to that the imminent opening of Pokemon Center Bangkok at CentralWorld — set to be the largest Pokemon Center outside Japan — and Thailand's Pokemon TCG ecosystem is entering a breakout phase.

Understanding Thailand's TCG Event Types
Large Card Expos (Ticketed)
Examples: Thailand International Card EXPO, Bangkok International Card Show
Full-scale card shows held in large convention halls or shopping mall halls. 50–200+ vendor booths covering Pokemon, One Piece, Sports Cards, and other TCGs under one roof.
- Atmosphere: Busy and diverse — professional shops alongside individual collectors
- Stock: Sealed product, singles, graded cards and accessories all available
- Entry fees: 100–350 THB (TICE 3-Day Pass 350 THB includes 2 free booster packs); children under 15 typically free
- Payment: PromptPay, cash, credit card, True Wallet, Alipay/WeChat at larger events
- Best for: Collectors seeking the widest selection and one-stop shopping
Mid-Scale Card Shows
Examples: Asia Card Show Thailand, Collectible Con Bangkok
30–80 vendor booths in a more intimate setting. Collectible Con notably offers on-site grading services by SASOM — useful for submitting raw cards directly at the event.
- Atmosphere: More relaxed than large expos — more time to browse and negotiate
- Best for: Collectors seeking a curated experience with authentication and grading access
B2S Tournament Series — Compete + Shop
A three-round annual series co-organized by B2S, TSCC and Metro Mall. Each round runs two days — Saturday is Junior Battle (age ≤13, 84 players), Sunday is Open Battle (all ages, 84 players). A vendor zone and beginner workshop run alongside the tournament.
- Format: Official Pokemon TCG Standard — Swiss Rounds → Single-Elimination Top Cut
- Logistics: Every round is held at a Metro Mall directly connected to an MRT station
- Best for: Competitive players wanting official Prize Support and ranked experience
Cultural Expos with TCG Zones
Examples: Japan Expo Thailand, Anime Festival Asia Thailand
Large lifestyle and culture festivals where a TCG component is one part of a broader program. Japan Expo 2026 added a dedicated Pokemon Trading Zone for the first time. AFA Thailand focuses more on Bandai Card Games (One Piece, Dragon Ball) than Pokemon directly.
- Upside: Massive foot traffic; great for community exposure and networking
- Downside: Pokemon TCG is not the primary focus — card vendor density is lower than dedicated events
- Best for: Collectors who enjoy Japan culture alongside their TCG hobby

Strategic Event Selection
If you want the most complete experience
Choose Thailand International Card EXPO 2026 (May 29–31) — 3 days, 2,500 sqm, 200+ vendor booths. The 3-Day Pass (350 THB, includes 2 free booster packs) is outstanding value. Covers Pokemon, One Piece, Sports Cards, and more under one roof.
If you want networking and peer-to-peer trading
Choose Bangkok International Card Show 2026 (Oct 17–18) — The Cardster organizes this annual show at Samyan Mitrtown, consistently drawing the strongest mix of sports card and TCG vendors. The Trade Night (Oct 18, 8pm–midnight at Craft Beer Pradit) is a unique social trading session after the main show closes.
If you want official competitive play
Choose the B2S Pokemon TCG Tournament Series — official Standard Format with Junior and Open divisions, Prize Support, and a vendor zone alongside. All three rounds are MRT-accessible.
If you're travelling from outside Bangkok
Plan your trip around a 3-day event (TICE) to justify travel costs. Also check the weekly GYM Battle schedule — active venues exist in Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Chonburi, Rayong, Lampang and Kanchanaburi year-round at asia.pokemon-card.com/th

Pro Collector Tips for Thailand Events
- PromptPay is the default payment: Most vendors use QR-code scanning via Thai banking apps. Bring THB cash as a backup — smaller booths and individual sellers may be cash-only.
- Walk the entire floor before buying: The same card can vary 15–25% in price between booths at the same event. Scout first, buy second.
- Check prices at tcgTalk Price Comparison before you go — knowing market rates gives you negotiation leverage.
- Last-day afternoons: Vendors at multi-day events often discount to avoid packing unsold stock — best negotiation window at TICE is Sunday late afternoon.
- Bundle to negotiate: "Can you do a deal if I take all three?" is far more effective than haggling card-by-card.
- Verify graded cards carefully: Thailand events attract diverse vendors. For graded cards, stick to PSA, BGS, CGC slabs and scan the QR code on the slab before paying.
- Follow Facebook, not Telegram: Unlike Singapore's Telegram-dominant community, Thailand's TCG scene runs on Facebook Groups — that's where flash sales, event announcements and live auctions happen.
- Thai-language cards are collectible worldwide: Pokemon TCG was officially translated to Thai in 2019 — Thai-script cards and Thailand-exclusive releases are sought by international collectors. You can find them at good prices locally.
Pokemon Center Bangkok — A Game-Changer
The Pokemon Company has confirmed Pokemon Center Bangkok will open at CentralWorld in 2026 — the third Pokemon Center outside Japan (after Singapore 2019 and Taipei 2023) and the largest Pokemon Center outside Japan.
Once open, CentralWorld will function as Thailand's anchor for sanctioned Pokemon events — similar to how Pokemon Center Singapore enables Creselia Cup-level sanctioned play. Expect it to trigger Regional and International Championship Series events coming to Bangkok.
