What Is Card Liquidity?
Liquidity describes how easily an asset can be bought or sold at a stable price. In the Pokémon card market, a liquid card is one with many active buyers and sellers — you can list it today and expect a quick sale at or near market value.
We measure liquidity using annual sales volume from PriceCharting: the number of verified transactions recorded per card per year. A card with 11,000 annual sales is dramatically more liquid than one with 50. High liquidity matters for:
- Graders — liquid cards sell quickly after slabbing, reducing holding risk
- Resellers — you can exit positions without waiting months for a buyer
- Price accuracy — more transactions mean the listed price reflects real market consensus
- Collectors — easier to find copies at fair market value
All prices below come from PriceCharting daily CSV snapshots: current (May 5, 2026) vs baseline (April 5, 2026) for a 30-day change view.

Liquidity is how easily a card can be bought or sold at fair market value. We measure it using annual sales volume from PriceCharting — verified transaction counts per card per year. High-volume cards have many active buyers and sellers, so you can exit quickly without discounting heavily.
How are prices sourced?
All prices come from PriceCharting daily CSV snapshots. Condition mapping: Ungraded = loose-price, PSA 10 = manual-only-price, BGS 10 = bgs-10-price, CGC 10 = condition-17-price, SGC 10 = condition-18-price, PSA/BGS 9 = graded-price, PSA/BGS 8-8.5 = new-price, PSA/BGS 7-7.5 = cib-price, BGS 9.5 = box-only-price.
Why does BGS 10 cost more than PSA 10?
BGS 10 Black Label requires all four sub-grades to score a perfect 10.0 — centering, corners, edges, and surface. The bar is higher than PSA 10, producing far fewer Black Labels per card, which drives a significant premium.
