What Is Attack of the Vine?
Attack of the Vine is the Disney Lorcana set that follows Wilds Unknown, with pre-release events on 17 July 2026 and mass retail release on 24 July 2026. It concludes the Floodborn story arc: a mysterious Vine spreads across Lorcana, draining the magical ink left behind by the flood and using it to spawn "Vinelings" — Created by the Vine copies of existing characters that function a little like Slivers in Magic, buffing one another the more you play.
The set is a franchise-heavy crowd-pleaser. Monsters, Inc. makes its Lorcana debut (Sulley, Boo, Mike Wazowski, Randall Boggs, Henry J. Waternoose), alongside Turning Red (Meilin Lee, Four Town), Up (Carl, Russell, Kevin, Dug), and a heavy Winnie the Pooh "Hunny" theme. Returning villains like Scar, Maleficent, and the Horned King round out a deliberately darker, creepier aesthetic.
The headline mechanic is the new team-up (duo) card — two iconic characters on a single card that can Shift onto either individual character. Woody & Buzz Lightyear, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel & Flynn Rider, and Dash & Violet Parr all appear as duo Shift legendaries, and the two set-topping Iconics — Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch — are dual-ink team-ups as well. Crucially for openers, the improved pull rates introduced in Wilds Unknown carry straight over: expect roughly 6–8 legendaries and 2–3 epics per box.
Box Contents & Pack Structure
Attack of the Vine is available in several retail formats:
- Booster Box — 24 packs per box, 12 cards per pack
- Trove — sealed collector box containing 8 packs plus accessories (lore counter, dice, card dividers)
- Booster Bundle — 6 packs per bundle, 12 cards per pack
- Prerelease Kit — 6 packs plus a stamped Boo promo, movie posters, dice, and a Pack Rush rules insert
- Single packs — 12 cards per pack
Each 12-card pack contains commons, uncommons, a guaranteed rare slot, and a foil slot. The foil slot is the one that determines your hit: it can be a foil common, foil rare, super rare, legendary (gold cold-foil border), epic (borderless full art), enchanted (alternate full art with premium foiling), or an Iconic. Every pack guarantees at least one non-foil rare — the variance lives in the foil slot.
Each booster box also contains puzzle-piece cards; assembling them reveals a themed illustration (a Winnie the Pooh scene in this set). Several base card arts are also connecting pieces designed to sit side by side in a binder — the Robin Hood / Maid Marian and Ellie / Carl pairings are notable examples.
Sample breakdown
The 230 packs in this analysis came from six separate openings across multiple content creators, all opened at or just after pre-release:
- Boxes 1 (24 packs): a single booster box logged card-by-card
- Boxes 2–5 (96 packs): a full four-box case, boxes logged separately
- Boxes 6–7 (48 packs): two more single booster boxes from separate creators
- Boxes 8–9 (48 packs): two booster boxes opened alongside a trove
- Trove (8 packs) & Prerelease Kit (6 packs): reported separately below, not folded into the main box table
Pull Rate Data: 230 Packs
The table below covers 9 full booster boxes (216 packs). Legendary counts include both foil and non-foil versions. "Epic" refers to the borderless full-art variant that sits between super rare and enchanted. Regular rares and super rares are not individually tallied — the focus is on the legendary tier and above. Trove and prerelease-kit data are reported separately so their smaller samples don't distort per-box rates.
Primary sample — 216 packs (9 booster boxes)

| Total Legendaries + Above | 84 | ~6 legendary + 2–3 epic |
*Iconic rate not observed in this 216-pack sample. Community estimates suggest roughly 1 Iconic per case (4 boxes) or rarer, but confirmed large-sample data is limited at time of writing.

Trove & Prerelease Kit — additional samples
One Trove (8 packs plus accessories) produced 2 legendaries — including one cold-foil legendary (a giant red panda) — with no epic or enchanted. One Prerelease Kit (6 packs) produced 3 legendaries, including a foil legendary Belle. Both samples are too small to draw reliable rates from, but both landed in the expected range and are consistent with the box data. The Trove is primarily a collector product — treat the dice, lore counter, and dividers as part of the value rather than relying on 8 packs for hit rates.
Key findings
- Legendary cadence: approximately 6 legendaries per 24-pack box (58 across 9 boxes), ranging from 4 to 8 — squarely in line with Wilds Unknown
- Epic cadence: the most consistent premium hit at ~2–3 per box; every box in the sample produced at least two
- Enchanted rate: 6 across 9 boxes (~1 in 1–2 boxes) in this creator-skewed sample — treat ~1 in 2 as the realistic expectation, with zero-enchanted boxes genuinely common
- Foil legendary: appeared in 5 of 9 boxes (~56%); expect roughly 1 per 2 boxes over a case
- Iconic (0 observed): Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch went unpulled across all 230 packs — estimated at ~1 per case or rarer; treat them as a bonus, never an expectation
- Variance is real: the sample includes a 2-enchanted case and multiple zero-enchanted boxes — the wider community also reports zero-enchanted full cases
Rarity Breakdown
Disney Lorcana uses a distinct rarity system compared to Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh. For new players, here is how the tiers in Attack of the Vine stack up:
| Rarity Tier | Description | Observed Rate | Expected Per Box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common / Uncommon | Non-foil base cards; bulk of each pack | Guaranteed | ~9 per pack |
| Rare | Non-foil rare; guaranteed in every pack | Guaranteed | ~1 per pack |
| Super Rare | Higher-impact card; most packs contain one | Most packs | ~10–12 per box |
| Foil (Rare / Super Rare) | Cold-foil treatment on any rarity; the foil slot | 1 per pack | ~24 per box (1 per pack) |
| Legendary | Gold cold-foil border; the headline hit tier | ~27% of packs | ~6 per box |
| Epic | Borderless full art; rarer than legendary | ~12% of packs | ~2–3 per box |
| Enchanted | Alternate full art with premium foiling; top collector tier | ~3% of packs | ~0.7 (≈1 in 1–2 boxes) |
| Iconic | Ultra-rare dual-ink team-up; Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch | 0% observed* | <0.5 (≈1 in 4+ boxes) |
*Iconic rate not confirmed in this sample. Community estimates are speculative at this stage.

The Iconic tier: what makes Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch different
Iconics are the rarest tier in Lorcana, above enchanted, with a distinct card frame and premium treatment. Attack of the Vine has exactly two, and both are dual-ink team-ups — a first for the tier. Belle & Beast - Certain as the Sun (#245) is Ruby/Sapphire; Lilo & Stitch - Fun-Loving Friends (#244) is Amber/Steel. Their movie-poster compositions take the set's enchanted foiling to its fullest extent, which is a large part of why they command four-figure prices out of the gate.
For context on how steep the drop-off is: the base (foil-slot) versions of these same cards sit under $10 — Belle & Beast [Foil] #132 is around $9 and Lilo & Stitch [Foil] #31 around $8.50. The Iconic treatment, not the character, is what carries the value.
Should You Open or Buy Singles?
Open if:
- You enjoy the pack-opening experience — at ~6 legendaries and 2–3 epics per box, almost every box delivers a genuine run of hits
- You are building a full binder or playset, including commons, uncommons, rares, and the connecting-art pairs
- You want to experience the Monsters, Inc. / Up / Turning Red debuts and the new team-up mechanic as you build
- You are happy to trade duplicate legendaries — you will pull them in quantity (Meilin Lee, Carl & Russell, and Mushu all repeated across our sample)
Buy singles if:
- You specifically want either Iconic — at roughly 1 per case (optimistic), chasing Belle & Beast (~$3,500) or Lilo & Stitch (~$2,000) through boxes makes no financial sense when singles are directly available
- You want a specific enchanted — there are around 20 enchanted cards in the set, so even at ~1 enchanted per 2 boxes, the odds of hitting your exact target are low
- You want a competitive base card — Peter Pan & Tinker Bell, Gaston, and Red Alert are all far cheaper as singles than the packs you'd open to find them
- You are working to a budget — buying the singles you want will almost always beat trying to pull them
The numbers on chasing Belle & Beast Iconic
- Observed Iconic rate: 0 in 230 packs (~9.6 boxes) — community estimate is ~1 per case (4 boxes) at best
- Number of Iconics in set: 2 (Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch)
- Odds of hitting specifically Belle & Beast: ~1 in 8 cases minimum (and likely rarer)
- At a booster box around $210, ~8 cases is roughly $6,700 in product for a coin-flip shot at a ~$3,500 card
- Lilo & Stitch at ~$2,000 is similarly uneconomical to chase — buy the single
The honest bottom line: Attack of the Vine is one of the most enjoyable Lorcana sets to open — the legendary rate is genuinely high, epics land in nearly every box, and enchanted cards appear often enough to keep the excitement real. But the Iconic ceiling ($3,500 and $2,000) is so far above pack economics that opening to target either one is essentially never the right call. Open boxes because you enjoy opening — not because you expect to pull Belle & Beast.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many legendaries do you get per Attack of the Vine box?
From 9 booster boxes (216 packs), the average was approximately 6 legendaries per 24-pack box, ranging from 4 to 8. That tracks the improved rates from Wilds Unknown and sits well above the 3–4 per box common in older Lorcana sets. Foil legendaries appeared in 5 of the 9 boxes.
Does every Attack of the Vine box have an enchanted?
No. In our 9-box sample, 6 enchanted cards appeared across the boxes — roughly 1 in 1–2 boxes — but several individual boxes had none, and the wider community reports plenty of zero-enchanted boxes and even zero-enchanted full cases. Around 1 enchanted per 2 boxes is a realistic expectation; treat any box as capable of having none.
How rare are the Belle & Beast and Lilo & Stitch Iconics?
Very rare. Zero Iconics were pulled in our 230-pack sample. Community data estimates them at roughly 1 per case (4 boxes) or rarer. Belle & Beast - Certain as the Sun (#245) sits around $3,500 and Lilo & Stitch - Fun-Loving Friends (#244) around $2,000 at launch. Both are dual-ink team-up Iconics — the first time the tier has used the team-up format.
What is the difference between Legendary, Epic, Enchanted, and Iconic in Lorcana?
Legendaries are gold cold-foil-bordered cards with standard art; you pull several per box (~6). Epics are borderless full-art variants, rarer than legendaries (~2–3 per box). Enchanteds are alternate full-art cards with premium foiling and command much higher prices (~1 per 2 boxes; roughly $88 to $1,200 in this set). Iconics are the rarest tier — distinct frame, ultra-rare, and in this set the two dual-ink team-ups at $2,000–$3,500.
How does Attack of the Vine compare to Wilds Unknown?
The pull rates are effectively the same. Every opener in our sample who had also opened Wilds Unknown noted near-identical results — around 6–8 legendaries and 2–3 epics per box, with enchanted cards in roughly 1 in 2 boxes. The main differences are thematic (the Floodborn arc concludes, Monsters Inc. debuts) and the new team-up mechanic, not the odds.
Is the trove or booster box better value in Attack of the Vine?
For raw pack value, the booster box (24 packs) is the efficient choice. The Trove is a collector product: 8 packs plus a lore counter, dice, and card dividers. If you want the accessories and display box, the Trove is worth it — but if you are purely chasing hits per dollar, boxes give you three times the packs. Our single Trove returned 2 legendaries and no enchanted, in line with its smaller pack count.
