ST13 Silent Barrage is the Green/Red deck in the four-deck wave — see the full ST11–ST14 comparison for how the four compare. Its theme is ranged combat using Bit and Funnel tokens, and it contains the first red Academy cards in the game.
What Is ST13 Silent Barrage?
The deck collects mobile suits that fight at range — Qubeley's funnels, Elmeth's bits, the GX bits, Gundam Aerial's bits — and gives them a shared Bit/Funnel token. Those tokens are 2/2s that cannot be paired with a pilot and cannot attack, so they are not a threat; they are resources. The deck is really asking what you can do with a board full of bodies you do not care about.
That is a reasonable design and an incomplete one. The more consequential thing in ST13 is that it brings Academy into red for the first time, and the two cards that do it are the ones most likely to be played by people who never sleeve up a single Bit.
A note on copy counts: every card below — name, number, rarity, stats, traits and effect text — comes from the official GUNDAM CARD GAME card database. Bandai publishes the deck size (50 cards) but not how many copies of each card a deck contains, so the Copies column is blank for ST13. We will fill it in once it is confirmed from a physical deck.

Deck Composition
Bandai built all four decks to the same skeleton — 10 units, 2 pilots, 2 commands, 1 command/pilot and 1 base, 16 different cards making up the 50-card deck. What separates them is the curve and the colour split. ST13 splits evenly at eight cards per colour and concentrates hard in the middle — six of its sixteen cards sit at level 4. The Bit/Funnel tokens are not counted here, and they add more bodies still. The Green half builds the token engine; the Red half is what other decks want.
| Card type | Cards | Colour | Cards | Level | Cards |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Units | 10 | Green | 8 | Level 2 | 2 |
| Pilots | 2 | Red | 8 | Level 3 | 3 |
| Commands | 2 | Level 4 | 6 | ||
| Command / Pilot | 1 | Level 5 | 1 | ||
| Bases | 1 | Level 6 | 3 | ||
| Level 7 | 1 |
Counts are different cards, not copies — 16 distinct cards make up the 50-card deck. Tokens excluded.
The Two Legendary Rares
Qubeley
Level 7, cost 5, 5/5, linking to Haman Karn. Once per turn during your turn, when you pair a pilot with one of your units, deploy one or two Bit/Funnel tokens. Its activate-main, once per turn, pays one to choose one of your unit tokens and one enemy unit and force them into a damage-step-only battle.
The wording on that second ability is worth reading carefully: it says unit token, not Bit/Funnel token. So it is not restricted to the tokens Qubeley makes. In a deck that produces other tokens — Zeon tokens with meaningful stat lines, for instance — this becomes a repeatable way to trade a free body into a real unit, which is a much better rate than it looks on the Bits alone.
Gundam Aerial
Level 6, cost 5, 5/4, linking to Suletta Mercury. This is the card the deck will be remembered for.
- During pair, on attack — if attacking the enemy player, deal 2 damage to an enemy unit
- Activate action, once per turn — rest one friendly unit, then deal 1 damage to a level 4 or lower enemy unit
Three points of reach per turn cycle, none of it requiring a card from hand. The resting cost is nearly free in a deck full of tokens that cannot attack anyway — and Aerial can rest itself if it has to. The effect is that low-HP boards simply stop existing: attack the player, ping a 2/2 off, rest a Bit and ping something else down.
It also stacks with existing red support. Paired with the original Suletta it becomes a 6/6 static body that frees a resource when it attacks, which in turn pays for a removal command in the same turn. Level 6 is a slot the format has been short on, too.
The Aerial + Suletta Package
The red Suletta Mercury is a 1 AP / 1 HP pilot with a once-per-turn trigger: when an enemy unit is destroyed by effect damage while the unit she is on is attacking, draw one.
Two things make her good. First, it is not a when-paired or when-linked effect — it works on any unit, in any deck, as long as the condition is met, and it keeps working on subsequent turns as long as she survives. Second, the trigger does not care who dealt the damage or whether the destroyed unit was the attack target. You can declare an attack at a base or into shields, then kill something else entirely with an action command during that battle, and still draw.
That turns burn commands into cantrips. In a Mobile Fighter shell, playing Darkness Finger to destroy something during an action step with red Suletta in play upgrades a cantrip into a genuine plus-one. Combined with Gundam Aerial's own damage, the pair forms a small draw engine out of removal you were already playing.
The honest counterweight, and the reason experienced players are calling her a meta call rather than an auto-include: she is a 1 HP pilot where the white Suletta is 2 HP. Against purple and red decks that ping, that extra point of HP matters, and swapping down to 1 HP is not free. Some players are landing on splitting one of each rather than committing.
Gundam Pharact and the Game's First Trash Hate
Gundam Pharact is a level 3, cost 2 Academy unit at 3/3 that links to Suletta. On attack, choose an enemy player; that player chooses two unit cards in their own trash and exiles them from the game.
Nothing in the Gundam Card Game had done this before this wave. Its sibling is Palace Athene in ST14, which does the same thing once on deploy rather than repeatedly on attack. The deck-level implications are real, because a lot of what people currently play depends on the trash:
- Mobile Fighter recurs commands and needs MF units in the trash to burst Master Asia
- Cruise-control Unicorn builds count trash for their payoffs
- The purple Banshee Destroy Mode from ST12 literally exiles trash as a cost
Whether it reshapes the format depends on how much play it actually gets. Academy is perennially popular at locals regardless of competitive tier, so expect to run into Pharact there. In best-of-three with a sideboard it is an obvious two-of against the decks it targets. In best-of-one it competes for slots against cards that are good in every matchup rather than a handful — and for most decks, a card that is only live against two archetypes loses that comparison.
Note also that Pharact lets the opponent choose which two cards to exile, so it is disruption rather than surgical removal. It is closest in effect to a recurring, symmetrical graveyard tax.
Are Bits and Funnels a Real Archetype?
Not yet. The tokens cannot attack and cannot take a pilot, so they generate no pressure on their own. What they do is enable other cards:
- Rest one for Gundam Aerial's ping
- Destroy one for the Red Gundam to gain Breach
- Sacrifice one to Final Duty, which then looks at the top four and deploys a level 4 or lower unit — turning a body that cannot attack into one that can
- Feed Qubeley's forced-battle ability
That is a coherent set of interactions and a reasonable amount of value, but the deck lacks a card that turns a wide token board into a win. Until it gets one, the Bits shell is support, not a strategy.
The two quietly strong cards here are the pilot searches. Haman Karn is a generic +2/+2 that, when paired, looks at the top five and adds a pilot at or below the unit's level. GFreD does something similar in green on deploy when the opponent has four or more units. Gundam is a game largely about having the next play before your opponent does, and search effects age better than power cards.
What It Upgrades in Your Decks
The Red half of this deck is going straight into other people's lists. The Green half is more situational:
| If you play… | Take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Any X/Red ping deck | Gundam Aerial, Suletta Mercury | Three points of reach per turn cycle, and a pilot that turns every effect-damage kill into a draw. |
| Academy | Gundam Pharact | The first trash hate in the game, and it fires on every attack rather than once on deploy. |
| Any green deck | Haman Karn, GFreD | Two different generic pilot searches. Consistency tools age better than power cards. |
| Green aggro | GX-Bit | On-curve top-deck fixing plus an EX-base break. Fragile at 1 HP, but it has usually done its job by then. |
| Celestial Being | Gundam Throne Zwei | A strong generic body that helps build the trash CB payoffs count. |
| Mobile Fighter | Suletta Mercury (split with white) | Upgrades Darkness Finger from a cantrip to a plus-one — but she is 1 HP where white Suletta is 2 HP, so most players split. |
Is It Worth Buying?
Buy it for the red package, not the archetype.
Gundam Aerial and red Suletta are going to show up in a lot of X/Red decks over the next month — Aerial in particular is a strong candidate for the best ping unit in the format, and it pushes white/red Witch from Mercury toward being the default ping deck. Gundam Pharact is the format's first trash hate and worth owning even if it starts in your sideboard. The pilot searches are solid, unglamorous includes for green decks.
One copy gets you two Gundam Aerial, four Suletta and four Pharact, which covers the reasons to buy it. A second copy only makes sense if you intend to build the Bits deck itself, which we would not recommend until it gets more support.
As a deck to play out of the box, it is fine and coherent — Qubeley makes bodies, Aerial converts them into damage — but it does not close games quickly and the token plan runs out of gas against anything that plays larger units.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ST13 Silent Barrage worth buying?
Yes, for Gundam Aerial, the red Suletta Mercury and Gundam Pharact. The Bit/Funnel shell itself is utility rather than a finished archetype.
What makes the red Gundam Aerial strong?
Two damage on attack against the player, plus a once-per-turn action-speed ping for one by resting any friendly unit — including itself. Three points of reach per turn without spending a card from hand.
Should I play the red Suletta over the white one?
It depends on your matchups. Red Suletta draws cards off effect-damage kills, but she is 1 HP where the white Suletta is 2 HP, which matters against ping decks. Splitting one of each is a common compromise for best-of-one.
What is trash hate in the Gundam Card Game?
Effects that exile cards from a player's trash, denying decks that recur or count cards there. Gundam Pharact (ST13) and Palace Athene (ST14) are the first two the game has printed.
Can Bit/Funnel tokens attack or be piloted?
No to both. They are 2/2 bodies that exist to be rested, sacrificed or fed to other effects.
Which ST13 cards will see play in other decks?
Gundam Aerial and red Suletta in any red ping deck, Gundam Pharact as maindeck or sideboard trash hate, GX-Bit as a green consistency piece, and both Haman Karn and GFreD as generic pilot searches.
