Why Reality Fracture Cards Hold Value
Reality Fracture released on 2 October 2026 — 23 days before this snapshot. Its premise is that Jace Beleren built a replacement multiverse, the Echoverse, and populated it with inverted versions of familiar Magic legends. The set's value story is unusually clean to read, because almost all of it sits in two premium finishes rather than in the cards themselves.
In base printings the set tops out at about $58. One opener put it bluntly on camera during a five-box break: "the main set, if you just go base versions, there's nothing over like 40 bucks." Everything in the top 20 below is a premium finish — a Facet Foil, a Fractured Foil, or the serialized retro-frame headliner.
Three things drive value in Reality Fracture:
- Facet Foil, the Shattered Mirror chase finish. Thirteen cards, roughly 3,000 mythic and 6,000 rare copies cited across the entire print run, and a median premium near 30x over the same card's non-foil printing. 10 of the top 20 below are Facet Foils.
- Fractured Foil, the anime chase finish. The same ten anime showcase cards exist in a standard foil printing (#403–#412, ~$395 for all ten) and a Fractured Foil printing (#413–#422, ~$1,761 for all ten) — a 4.5x finish premium.
- Gameplay demand on cheap base printings. The deepest liquidity in the set is not at the top. Hexhaven Invigorator #106 has 761 recorded sales at $30 and The Theorist, Jace Beleren #43 has 743 at $58. Reality Fracture is a players' set with a collectors' ceiling bolted on.

| 20 | Gardenize [Showcase Foil] #416 | Fractured Foil | $142.50 | $184 | 235 |
One row to read carefully: Emrakul, the Exigent Doom [Showcase] #413 at rank 6 is a non-foil printing priced above its own foil, on only 42 sales against the foil's 247. Thin data on an unusual printing — the $339 foil at rank 8 is the better anchor for what an Emrakul anime card is worth.
The Prices We Left Out
PriceCharting carries a price for every printing it tracks, whether or not that printing has ever traded. For a set three weeks old, several of the most eye-catching numbers are listings nobody has bought. Those are excluded from the rankings above and shown here instead, because they are genuinely useful to know about — just not as prices.
| Printing | Listed (USD) | Listed (SGD) | Recorded Sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bloodline Recollector [Retro Frame Foil] #402 | $1,825.00 | $2,354 | 0–1 |
| Enlightened Confidant [Borderless Foil] #439 | $421.02 | $543 | 0–1 |
| Return to the Light Realms [Borderless Foil] #440 | $360.00 | $464 | 0–1 |
| Aerid Konstrari [Showcase] #417 | $150.00 | $194 | 0–1 |
| The Theorist, Jace Beleren [Showcase] #405 | $70.00 | $90 | 0–1 |
| The Theorist, Jace Beleren [Borderless Foil] #443 | $55.55 | $72 | 0–1 |
The important one is Bloodline Recollector [Retro Frame Foil] #402 at $1,825. If you search for the serialized Bloodline Recollector you will find both this and the $2,725 non-foil Retro Frame, and only the latter has an actual trading history (33 sales). Do not treat the $1,825 figure as a discount on the headliner; treat it as an untested listing.
Facet Foil — The Set's Real Chase
Facet Foil is the premium finish on the 13-card Shattered Mirror cycle. The Shattered Mirror frame is the set's signature look: the original, pre-Echoverse version of the card is visible through cracked glass behind the new art — the original Dark Confidant peering out from behind Enlightened Confidant, Rune-Scarred Demon behind Curse-Marred Demon, Craterhoof Behemoth behind Craterclaw Colossus.
The non-foil Shattered Mirror cards are cheap. The Facet Foil versions of the same collector numbers are not, and the spread is the clearest finish premium in any recent Magic set:
| Card | No. | Non-foil (USD) | Facet Foil (USD) | Facet Foil (SGD) | Multiple |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hexhaven Invigorator | #458 | $32.31 | $467.64 | $603 | 14x |
| Craterclaw Colossus | #455 | $17.22 | $450.00 | $581 | 26x |
| Return to the Light Realms | #451 | $12.22 | $411.64 | $531 | 34x |
| Darklight Phoenix | #453 | $14.95 | $397.50 | $513 | 27x |
| Omnipresence | #459 | $13.35 * | $365.00 | $471 | 27x |
| Stingcaster Mage | #457 | $6.69 | $280.25 | $362 | 42x |
| Enlightened Confidant | #449 | $8.00 | $234.38 | $302 | 29x |
| Seasoned Cryomancer | #452 | $12.00 * | $219.46 | $283 | 18x |
| Curse-Marred Demon | #456 | $2.72 | $187.47 | $242 | 69x |
| Simulacrum Shaper | #460 | $3.09 | $147.62 | $190 | 48x |
| Kindred Judgment | #450 | $1.50 | $139.91 | $180 | 93x |
| Rise of the Deathbringer | #454 | $57.52 | $125.95 | $162 | 2x |
| Frostbite Pyromental | #461 | $0.42 | $76.65 | $99 | 183x |
| Complete 13-card cycle | $3,503 | $4,519 | — | ||
* Omnipresence and Seasoned Cryomancer are the two non-foil printings with 0–1 recorded sales, so their multiples are directional rather than measured. The other eleven denominators all clear 40 sales.
Three observations on the Facet Foil cycle:
- The multiple has nothing to do with playability. Frostbite Pyromental is a $0.42 card that becomes a $76.65 card in Facet Foil — a 182x spread. Kindred Judgment goes $1.50 to $139.91. The finish is the entire asset.
- The one exception proves it. Rise of the Deathbringer is the only card in the cycle whose non-foil is already expensive ($57.52), and it has far and away the smallest Facet Foil multiple at 2x. Where the card carries its own value, the finish premium compresses.
- The cycle has already repriced down hard. At $3,503 for all thirteen, it sits well below the "almost $10,000 of them total between the rares and mythics" that one opener quoted from pre-sale listings on release week. Three weeks is not long, and the direction of travel is down.
For context on how hard these are to open: across a documented 132-pack, 11-box sample, including a continuous five-box break whose opener spent the entire video hunting one, zero Facet Foils were pulled. Full odds are on our Reality Fracture pull-rate page.
Fractured Foil vs Standard Anime Showcase
The set's second premium finish, Fractured Foil, applies to the ten-card Japanese anime showcase cycle: Emrakul, Kwia Vigorbloom, Ingris Stingerquill, Denzilore Fatehold, Codie, Aerid Konstrari, Gardenize, Uldaros Theorix, The Theorist Jace Beleren and Loyal Tutor. The same ten cards exist twice — once as a standard anime Showcase printing and once as a Fractured Foil — and the gap between the two cycles is remarkably consistent.
| Cycle | Collector Nos. | Cards | Total (USD) | Top Card |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fractured Foil | #413–#422 | 10 | ~$1,761 | Emrakul, the Exigent Doom — $339 |
| Standard anime Showcase Foil | #403–#412 | 10 | ~$395 | The Theorist, Jace Beleren — $104 |
That is roughly a 4.5x premium for the finish. Note the top card changes between cycles: the Fractured Foil cycle is led by Emrakul, while the standard cycle is led by Jace — the set's face character and its most-played planeswalker, which keeps the cheaper printing liquid (420 sales) even though the premium Emrakul is worth three times as much.
One opener who read live market prices on camera flagged the risk directly: "the anime alt arts, unless the card is really good, tend to lose value pretty fast after the set comes out." That is the reason he deliberately waited rather than opening on release week. The Fractured Foil cycle is where that warning applies hardest — nine of its ten cards are carried by the treatment rather than by play.
The Serialized Bloodline Recollector
Bloodline Recollector is an unremarkable two-mana black mythic in its ordinary printings: $5.89 non-foil, $7.61 foil, $16.73 in extended-art foil. What makes it the set's headliner is the retro-frame serialized print run of 500, tracked at about USD $2,725 / SGD $3,515 on 33 recorded sales.
That is a modest ceiling by recent Magic standards, and deliberately so. The Hobbit's Gleaming Gold Foil Smaug listed at $29,999.99; the original Lord of the Rings had a 1-of-1 One Ring. Reality Fracture's jackpot tops out under $3,000, with a second tier (the Facet Foils) capped at $468 and a flat curve underneath. That flatter distribution is why the set's collector boxes return so much more of their cost than recent releases — value is spread across many $100–$450 cards rather than concentrated in one unpullable lottery ticket.
Practically: at 500 copies worldwide and zero appearances in 132 documented packs, this is a card to buy, not to chase.

Graded prices
There are none. Three weeks after release, no Reality Fracture printing has a meaningful PSA 10, BGS 10 or CGC 10 comp — grading turnaround means populations have not started to build. Every figure on this page is an ungraded market value. Expect the first comps on the serialized Bloodline Recollector and the top Facet Foils over the coming months, and check our Magic grading ROI analysis for how comparable premium treatments have behaved once populations formed.
Buying Tips for Reality Fracture Cards
Check the sales count before you trust a price
This is the single most important habit for a set this young. Six of the highest prices PriceCharting lists for Reality Fracture have zero or one recorded sale, including a $1,825 Bloodline Recollector variant. A printing with 200+ sales has a market; a printing with one has a hopeful seller. Every row in the tables above clears 20 sales for exactly this reason.
The playable cards are cheap, and that is the opportunity
The Theorist, Jace Beleren is SGD $75 in its base printing with 743 sales, and Hexhaven Invigorator is SGD $39 with 761. Both are Standard-legal mythics in a set openers rated as one of the strongest of the year. If you want to play Reality Fracture rather than collect it, the entry cost is genuinely low — the set's expensive cards are expensive because of their finish, not their power.
Be patient on the premium finishes
The complete Facet Foil cycle has fallen from a pre-sale estimate near $10,000 to about $3,503 in three weeks, and the creator consensus is that anime alt-arts in particular shed value fast after release unless the underlying card sees play. If you want a Facet Foil, the market is moving in your favour. Cross-check any top-20 purchase against recent sold listings rather than a listed price.
Buying the cycle beats opening for it
A 12-pack collector box is about $435, and a documented 132-pack sample — roughly $4,800 of product — produced zero Facet Foils. The complete 13-card cycle costs about $3,503 to buy outright, and the cheapest member, Frostbite Pyromental, is $76.65. You can own every Facet Foil in the set for less than that sample cost to open.
