What Is Beyond the Brave?
Beyond the Brave (set code BETB) is the autumn 2026 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG core set, released 7 October 2026 at Official Tournament Store premiere events and 9 October everywhere else. It is the first main set to put Joey Wheeler on the box, with Red-Eyes Black Dragon behind him — and the openers noticed. "Has Joey ever been on a box before? Beside like a main set, I should say," one asked mid-break, before concluding it had always been Yugi.
The set is built around a new Dark Time Wizard spell and a web of Joey retrains — Swiftwind Panther Warrior, Sleepy Scapegoats, Graceful & Skull Dice, Alligator's Dragon Knight, Jinzo - Energy Shocker, Reversal Box. Around that sit legacy waves for Destiny HERO, the Umi / Atlantean Daedalus line, Adamancipator, Invoked and Umbral Horror, a new trap-bouncing Ashtra archetype, the Ars Magna cards that feed Elf Note, and the second world-premiere wave of Angelechy support. One opener summed the design up: "Konami just make the same cards over and over, change the effect a little bit. Got to respect it."
For collectors the set has a three-step chase ladder above Secret Rare. Starlight Rare returns in its newer "2.0" finish — 9 standard-frame cards. On top of that, five cards get the Over-frame treatment (TCGplayer and PriceCharting list these as Extended Art; openers call them "full arts"), and each of those five also exists as an Over-frame Starlight. That top tier is where every dollar in this set lives: the Over-frame Starlight Great Gallant Bandit is about $422 while its own base printing is $68.99 and the cheapest Secret Rare in the set is $3.40.
That split was flagged early. The English rarity layout was known before release — one opener, cracking the Japanese print months earlier, read the announcement on camera: "It says there's going to be five cards as extended arts for English." There are exactly five.
Box Contents & Pack Structure
- Booster Box — 24 packs, 9 cards per pack. PriceCharting ungraded $56.92 as of 25 October 2026, down from $69.00 in release week
- Booster Pack — around $4.74 as a single
- Mini box / "special edition" — 4 packs plus one promo token card; $17.97 at US big-box retail, which is $4.49 a pack against $2.37 a pack in a booster box
- 100 cards in the English set (BETB-EN001 to EN100) — the 80-card Japanese set plus 20 English world premieres
- Premiere event prize — a Secret Rare Dark Time Wizard, plus a playmat and Field Center card for taking part. That Secret Rare printing (currently $17.73) is not in packs
Every pack runs the same structure: 7 Commons, 1 Rare and 1 foil. The foil slot is the only variable, and it resolves to a Super Rare, an Ultra Rare, a Secret Rare, a Starlight Rare, an Over-frame Ultra or — once in a great while — an Over-frame Starlight.
The chase pool
| Tier | Card types in set | Price range (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Secret Rare | 10 | $3.40 – $68.99 (median $7.43) |
| Over-frame Ultra Rare (extended art) | 5 | $7.50 – $104.72 |
| Starlight Rare (standard frame) | 9 | $20.86 – $61.82 |
| Over-frame Starlight Rare | 5 | $44.13 – $422.52 |
Sample breakdown
The 350 packs in this analysis were aggregated from community openings in the first two and a half weeks after release:
- One early-access box (24 packs) — opened card-by-card before street date, every card named on camera
- Two publisher-supplied early boxes (48 packs) — also logged card-by-card, with the opener counting Ultra Rares aloud
- Two premiere-weekend boxes from a local store (48 packs) — the opener counted Secret Rares cumulatively across both boxes
- One retail box (24 packs) — the cleanest single-box log in the sample, pack by pack from 1 to 24
- One further premiere box (24 packs) — rarities called but not tallied
- A half case, six boxes (144 packs) — opened fast, hits called but not counted. Its opener closed with "that's a really good half a case, I don't think I'm ever going to do better than that", which is exactly how you should read it
- Eight 4-pack mini boxes (32 packs) and six loose packs — including one opener who kept a running market-value tally on screen
Separately, two 30-pack Japanese (OCG) boxes were logged. Those 60 packs are kept out of every figure below — the OCG print has a different rarity ladder (Prismatic Secret Rare, Ultimate Rare, four extended arts rather than five) and a different box size — but they produced a useful null result, noted under Key Findings.
Denominators differ by row and are stated explicitly, because not every opener tracked every tier. As always with launch-window creator samples, treat these as an optimistic ceiling: people who open on camera at release tend to publish their luckiest boxes.
Pull Rate Data: 350 Packs
Konami does not publish official Yu-Gi-Oh! pull rates, so every figure here is a community estimate. The denominator column is the number of packs in which that specific tier was actually counted on camera — it is not the same for every row.
Primary sample — 312 booster-box packs (13 boxes), plus 38 mini-box and loose packs
| Rarity | Pulls | % per Pack | Per 24-Pack Box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rare (non-foil) | fixed slot | 100% | 24 |
| Super Rare only (no Ultra or above) | ~109 / 144 | 75.7% | ~18 |
| Ultra Rare | 8 / 48 | 16.7% | 4 |
| Secret Rare | 11 / 144 | 7.6% | ~1.8 |
| Over-frame Ultra Rare (extended art) | 4 / 312 | 1.28% | ~0.31 (≈1 in 3.3 boxes) |
| Starlight Rare (any frame) | 4 / 312 | 1.28% | ~0.31 (≈1 in 3.3 boxes) |
| — of which standard frame | 3 / 312 | 0.96% | ~0.23 (≈1 in 4.3 boxes) |
| — of which Over-frame Starlight | 1 / 312 | 0.32% | ≈1 in 13 boxes* |
*One hit in 312 packs is a single observation, not a rate. Read it as "a once-per-many-boxes event" — the honest confidence interval around it is wide enough to be useless, and the only thing the sample settles is that it is not a per-case guarantee. The Super-Rare-only row is derived: 24 foil slots a box, minus 4 Ultras, minus 1.83 Secrets, minus the 0.6 chase cards, leaves about 18 packs whose best card is a Super Rare.

Named Notable Pulls
Every chase card logged in the sample, so you can see what the numbers above are actually made of:
- Over-frame Starlight (1): Elemental Saga Doriado, from the six-box half case
- Over-frame Ultra Rare (4): The Great Gallant Bandit twice — once in the second pack of a 48-pack break, once in the half case — plus Elemental Saga Doriado and CXyz Hope Chaos Barian Dragon, both from that same half case
- Standard Starlight Rare (3): Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite, and Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma twice, from two unrelated openings
- Secret Rares, all ten types seen: The Great Gallant Bandit (four copies, three of them in the same half case), Hey, Space Trunade! (twice), Theorealized Medius (twice), Mikumari the Banisher Ashtra (twice), Levia-Dragon of Atlantis - Daedalus (twice), Akasuna the Battle Ashtra, Gorgonic Umbral Horror, Barian's Seventh Untopia, Elemental Saga Doriado, Number 104: Masquerade V
- Last pack magic: the cleanest single-box log in the sample spent 24 packs asking for the Dark Time Wizard and pulled it as the Ultra Rare in pack 24
- Doubles are normal: one box produced the Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite Starlight and its plain Ultra Rare printing; the half case produced three Great Gallant Bandit Secrets, one short of nothing because you only play one
Key Findings
- Three out of four packs are a Super Rare and change. At 4 Ultras and roughly 1.8 Secrets per 24 packs, about 18 packs a box top out at a Super Rare — and the Super Rares we logged run $1.05 to $2.13 on PriceCharting's ungraded average, which is itself generous for a set this new. This is the number that decides whether you enjoy opening Beyond the Brave.
- Two Secrets a box is the rule, and the Secret pool is the problem. 11 in 144 packs is a tight, repeatable 1.8 per box, confirmed independently by four openers. But five of the ten Secrets trade at $5 or less and the median is $7.43. One opener read the whole pool off a price guide on camera and concluded: "Three Secret Rares over $10. That's brutal. That's probably why this set price-wise is not doing so well."
- Four Ultra Rares a box is the standard, and two openers said so independently. Both boxes in which Ultras were counted produced exactly four; one opener hit his fourth and said "so that's about standard, right?"
- The chase tier is one-in-three boxes — but the variance is brutal. Across 13 boxes we logged 8 cards above Secret Rare. Five of those eight came out of a single six-box half case. The other seven boxes produced three between them. If you buy one box, the modal outcome is two Secrets and no chase card at all.
- Creators guessed the rate correctly before anyone had data. Two separate openers, in unrelated videos, put the Over-frame and Starlight rates at "one every fourish boxes". We measured 1 in 3.3 for each. That convergence is worth more than either estimate alone.
- The Japanese print gave up nothing. Two full 30-pack OCG boxes — 60 packs — produced zero extended arts and zero Prismatic Secret Rares. One of those openers finished with "no prismatic secrets, no extended arts" after a complete box. The OCG ceiling is also far lower: its most expensive single is about $46, against $422 in English.
- The Over-frame Ultra is the trap of the set. It is the same artwork as the Over-frame Starlight, at the same frequency as a Starlight — and it has fallen hardest of any tier since release (median −48%, see below). It looks like the jackpot and prices like an Ultra Rare.
- Mini boxes are a worse deal than they look. At $17.97 for 4 packs plus a token, they run $4.49 a pack against $2.37 a pack in a booster box — 1.9x the price per pack. The token is worth about $5, which does not close that gap.
Rarity Breakdown
| Rarity Tier | Description | Observed Rate | Expected Per Box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 7 per pack; the bulk of the box | Fixed slot | 168 |
| Rare | 1 per pack, non-foil silver lettering | Fixed slot | 24 |
| Super Rare | Holofoil art, silver lettering — the default foil slot outcome | ~76% of packs | ~18 |
| Ultra Rare | Gold lettering with holofoil art; includes Dark Time Wizard, Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite and the set's playable spells | 16.7% of packs | 4 |
| Secret Rare | Diagonal prismatic foiling. Only 10 cards in the set, five of them at $5 or less | 7.6% of packs | ~1.8 |
| Over-frame Ultra Rare | Extended art breaking the card border, Ultra Rare foiling. Five cards only | 1.28% of packs | ~0.31 (≈1 in 3.3 boxes) |
| Starlight Rare | Full-card diamond-cut foiling in the newer "Starlight 2.0" finish. Nine standard-frame cards | 0.96% of packs | ~0.23 (≈1 in 4.3 boxes) |
| Over-frame Starlight Rare | The set jackpot: extended art plus Starlight foiling. The same five cards as the Over-frame Ultras | 1 in 312 packs observed | ≈1 in 13 boxes (single observation) |
The ten Secret Rares, priced
This is the table that explains the set's box EV. Two Secrets a box sounds generous until you see what the pool contains (PriceCharting ungraded, 25 October 2026):
| Secret Rare | Set No. | Market (USD) | Trailing sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Great Gallant Bandit | EN027 | $68.99 | 831 |
| Hey, Space Trunade! | EN068 | $31.63 | 808 |
| Mikumari the Banisher Ashtra | EN012 | $18.00 | 807 |
| Theorealized Medius | EN017 | $11.06 | 1,526 |
| Akasuna the Battle Ashtra | EN009 | $9.85 | 1,471 |
| Elemental Saga Doriado | EN028 | $5.00 | 779 |
| Barian's Seventh Untopia | EN055 | $4.95 | 733 |
| Number 104: Masquerade V | EN042 | $3.55 | 785 |
| Gorgonic Umbral Horror | EN007 | $3.54 | 851 |
| Levia-Dragon of Atlantis - Daedalus | EN013 | $3.40 | 809 |
Pull two at random and the median pair is worth about $15. Nine of the ten are cheaper than a third of the box. The whole ten-card set costs $159.97 — under three boxes — and that is before noting that the launch-week on-camera TCGplayer reads were lower still: the Number 104 was called at 77 cents on the day it was pulled.
The Chase Cards
Prices are PriceCharting ungraded market values as of 25 October 2026 — day 16 of the set's life — with trailing sales counts so you can see which prices have a market behind them. Treat the whole column as an upper bound. On a set this young PriceCharting's ungraded figure is still a monthly average carrying presale prints; on comparable sets at the same age the top, liquid cards ran 1.1–1.5x above TCGplayer market while the sub-$1 tail ran 8–11x. The rows below are the liquid end, so they are the usable ones — but verify before you buy or sell.
| Card | Rarity | Set No. | Market (USD) | Sales | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Great Gallant Bandit | Over-frame Starlight | EN027 | ~$422.52 | 281 | The set jackpot, and worth 7.4 booster boxes on its own. One opener called it at "like 600 bucks" in launch week |
| Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed | Over-frame Starlight | EN036 | ~$292.47 | 288 | The cover card, and a Fusion. The card everyone in the sample actually wanted; nobody in 350 packs hit it |
| CXyz Hope Chaos Barian Dragon | Over-frame Starlight | EN044 | ~$115.78 | 229 | Umbral Horror / Barian payoff monster; the Over-frame art is the best-liked in the set after the Bandit |
| The Great Gallant Bandit | Over-frame Ultra Rare | EN027 | ~$104.72 | 726 | Same art, Ultra foiling — and the most-traded chase printing in the set. Down 20% since its first liquid print |
| Elemental Saga Doriado | Over-frame Starlight | EN028 | ~$99.99 | 312 | The only Over-frame Starlight pulled in the entire 350-pack sample |
| The Great Gallant Bandit | Secret Rare | EN027 | ~$68.99 | 831 | The set's best card at the cheapest printing — buy this as a single, never chase the Starlight through packs |
| Dark Time Wizard | Starlight Rare | EN052 | ~$61.82 | 215 | The spell the whole Joey theme is built on; also exists as a $17.73 premiere-prize Secret and a $10.79 Ultra |
| Destiny HERO - Doom Overlord | Starlight Rare | EN022 | ~$60.00 | 620 | Destiny HERO is a live OCG deck, which is why its Starlights hold better than the set average |
| Black Skull Dragon, the Archfiend of Unity | Starlight Rare | EN026 | ~$58.19 | 392 | Pure nostalgia pull; openers wanted this in Over-frame and were disappointed it does not exist |
| Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite | Starlight Rare | EN018 | ~$56.97 | 128 | Elf Note engine piece — the most competitively relevant Starlight in the set |
| Dark City At Midnight | Starlight Rare | EN062 | ~$52.50 | 394 | The Destiny HERO field spell; the only Starlight to have risen since its baseline print — though that baseline is a late one (20 October), so the window is short |
| Destiny HERO - Dreadnought Master | Starlight Rare | EN037 | ~$47.68 | 275 | Fusion boss; base printing is a $1.71 Super Rare, so the finish is 28x the card |
| Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed | Over-frame Ultra Rare | EN036 | ~$47.11 | 732 | The affordable way to own the cover art; its own base Ultra is $4.99 |
| Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse | Over-frame Starlight | EN081 | ~$44.13 | 196 | The cheapest Over-frame Starlight — the floor of the top tier |
| Verre, the Maid of Endymion | Starlight Rare | EN098 | ~$36.50 | 296 | The long-awaited Endymion card, previewed as a headline before release; down 66% since its first liquid print |
| Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma | Starlight Rare | EN021 | ~$35.51 | 480 | Pulled twice in our sample — the most-seen Starlight in 13 boxes |
| Hey, Space Trunade! | Secret Rare | EN068 | ~$31.63 | 808 | Non-targeting, non-destructive field reset; the set's most generically playable new card |
| Angelechy Strategy Score | Ultra Rare | EN092 | ~$20.00 | 823 | The most expensive Ultra Rare in the set and the Angelechy starter — the one Ultra actually worth pulling |
| Elemental Saga Doriado | Over-frame Ultra Rare | EN028 | ~$20.00 | 553 | Pulled twice in the half case. Down 48% from its first liquid print — the Over-frame Ultra correction in one row |
| Dark Time Wizard | Ultra Rare | EN052 | ~$10.79 | 2,881 | The most-traded card in the set. You need it to play; the Ultra is the printing to buy |
The headliner: The Great Gallant Bandit
The Bandit is the clearest headline card Yu-Gi-Oh! has had in a core set this year, partly because it exists at three rarities and openers noticed immediately: "he also has a regular Secret Rare, he has the Over-frame, the Ultra Rare, and then the Starlight." At $68.99 Secret, $104.72 Over-frame Ultra and $422.52 Over-frame Starlight, it is simultaneously the best card in the set and the only reason a box ever clears its cost.
It is also the card the set's value depends on most dangerously. Pull a Secret Rare in this set and you have a one-in-ten chance of the Bandit and a five-in-ten chance of something worth $5 or less. One opener, 26 packs into a $95 opening, put it exactly right: "60 bucks is just one Gallant Bandit, so we could have pulled that."
The First-Fortnight Price Reset
Beyond the Brave has been repricing hard since release, and the shape of that repricing is the single most useful thing on this page if you are deciding what to keep. The table below indexes each tier from its first liquid print — the first daily PriceCharting observation with real trailing volume behind it, not the presale placeholder — through 25 October 2026.
| Tier | Median change since first liquid print | Cards measured |
|---|---|---|
| Over-frame Starlight | −14.9% | 5 |
| Sealed booster box | −17.5% ($69.00 → $56.92) | 1 |
| Starlight Rare (standard frame) | −24.1% | 9 |
| Secret Rare | −38.1% | 10 |
| Over-frame Ultra Rare | −47.7% | 5 |
On a like-for-like window — only cards whose baseline print landed in the first five days, measured to day 16 — the standard Starlights are worse than the tier median suggests: Black Skull Dragon −71%, Verre −66%, Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite −52%, Destro-Dogma −48%. The top tier held: the Bandit Over-frame Starlight went $463 → $422 and the Red-Eyes Over-frame Starlight $468 → $292.
Two honest caveats. First, the baselines are not all the same date — cards that only became liquid around 19–20 October have a shorter window and a flattered number, which is why the medians are quoted per tier rather than per card. Second, and more important: on a brand-new set, part of a measured fall like this is convergence, not collapse — PriceCharting's ungraded figure is a rolling average that starts out weighted toward presale prints and deflates as real trading accumulates. So read this table as the shape of the correction (which tiers are holding and which are not), and not as a claim that half the set's money evaporated in two weeks.
The actionable read is the same either way: the Over-frame Starlights are holding, the standard Starlights and the Over-frame Ultras are not. If you pulled an Over-frame Ultra and you are not playing the card, that is the one to move.
What a Box Actually Returns
Only one opener in the sample kept a running value tally, and it is worth reporting exactly because almost nobody does:
- Product: five 4-pack mini boxes at $17.97 each, plus six loose packs — $95.24 all in, 26 packs
- Pulled: three Secret Rares (Theorealized Medius, Mikumari the Banisher Ashtra, Number 104: Masquerade V), four Ultra Rares, five promo tokens, no Starlight, no Over-frame
- Tally at the end: around $60, roughly 63% — and about $25 of that was the five token cards, not pulled cards. Cards alone came to roughly $35 from 26 packs, about $1.35 a pack
Scale that per-pack figure to a 24-pack booster box and you get roughly $32 of cards against a $56.92 box — about 57%, for a box with no chase card in it. The structural version of the same arithmetic: 18 Super Rares (bulk), 4 Ultra Rares (one of which might be the $20 Angelechy Strategy Score, the rest mostly $2–$11), and two Secrets from a pool with a $7.43 median.
The whole EV of this box sits in one slot. A standard Starlight averages $47.78 and an Over-frame Starlight averages $194.98 — either one, on its own, takes a box past break-even. At the observed 1-in-3.3, roughly two boxes in three do not get one.
One thing we are deliberately not publishing: a dollar expected value per box computed from PriceCharting. On a 16-day-old set those ungraded averages are still converging downward and are worst at the cheap end — exactly where 18 of 24 packs land — so a tidy-looking EV figure built from them would read about twice the truth. The measured on-camera tally above and the structural breakdown are the honest substitutes.
Should You Open or Buy Singles?
Open if:
- You are building the Joey Wheeler, Destiny HERO, Ashtra, Angelechy or Umi/Atlantean decks out of the set — most of those cards are Common, Rare or Super Rare, so one box gets you most of a deck. One opener hit a third copy of the same Ashtra Secret Rare and gave in: "I feel like the Heart of the Cards are telling me to do it"
- You want the box as an opening experience rather than an investment. Two Secrets and four Ultras a box is consistent and no documented box was a complete miss
- You are buying a booster box, not mini boxes — $2.37 a pack versus $4.49 is the single biggest decision on this page
- You want a shot at a named Starlight you actually care about and accept a roughly 1-in-3 box-level chance of any Starlight at all
Buy singles if:
- You want the Great Gallant Bandit. The Secret Rare is $68.99 — about 1.2 boxes — and the Over-frame Starlight is $422.52, which is 7.4 boxes you would have to be lucky in
- You want the Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed Over-frame. Nobody in 350 packs pulled one
- You want to play the set. Dark Time Wizard Ultra is $10.79, Hey, Space Trunade! is $31.63, Angelechy Strategy Score is $20, and most of the rest of the set's playables sit between $2 and $12. The complete 10-card Secret Rare set is $159.97 — under three boxes
- You want a specific Secret Rare. Two per box drawn from a ten-card pool means roughly five boxes to expect the one you are after, and the one you are after is probably worth less than a third of a box
- You are tempted by an Over-frame Ultra as a flip. It is the fastest-falling tier in the set (median −48% since release)
The numbers on chasing the Over-frame Starlight Bandit
- Observed rate: 1 Over-frame Starlight in 312 documented box packs (13 boxes) — and it was a Doriado, not the Bandit
- Five cards share that pool, so a named one is roughly a 65-box proposition at the observed rate
- 65 boxes at today's $56.92 is about $3,700 of product
- The card is $422.52. You would spend roughly nine times its price to expect one, and most people spending that would still not have it
- Buying every chase card in the set — all 10 Secrets, all 5 Over-frame Ultras, all 9 standard Starlights and all 5 Over-frame Starlights — costs about $1,759, or 31 boxes. You would not complete that in 31 boxes, or in 100
The honest bottom line: Beyond the Brave is a cheap, pleasant, generous-feeling box with one of the weakest Secret Rare pools of any recent core set and one of the highest ceilings. At $56.92 a box it is a reasonable way to build the set's decks and a bad way to make money: three quarters of your packs end on a Super Rare worth pocket change, your two Secrets are coin-flips on five sub-$5 cards, and the only outcomes that pay for the box are the 1-in-3.3 Starlight and the 1-in-10 chance that one of your Secrets is the Bandit. Open it for the Joey nostalgia and the playset — the artwork on this set is the best argument for it, and multiple openers said so unprompted. If you want the Over-frame Red-Eyes or the Starlight Bandit, buy the card and spend the rest of the money on something you can play.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does every Beyond the Brave pack guarantee a Secret Rare?
No. Every pack contains one Rare and one foil card, but in roughly 76% of packs that foil is a Super Rare worth well under a dollar. Across the six boxes we logged card-by-card, the foil slot resolved to about 18 Super Rares, 4 Ultra Rares and 1.8 Secret Rares per 24-pack box. Two Secret Rares per box is the normal result, and no documented box produced fewer than one.
How many Secret Rares can I expect per Beyond the Brave box?
About two. We counted 11 Secret Rares in 144 packs (six booster boxes logged card-by-card), which is 7.6% of packs or 1.83 per box — the same pattern Blazing Dominion showed earlier in 2026. The catch is the pool: there are only 10 Secret Rares in the set, five trade at $5 or less, and the median is $7.43. Two Secrets per box is not the same thing as two dollars-worth of Secrets.
What are the Starlight Rare pull rates in Beyond the Brave?
We logged 4 Starlight Rares across 13 booster boxes (312 packs) — about 1.3% of packs, or one every 3.3 boxes. Three were standard-frame (Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite, and Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma twice) and one was an Over-frame Starlight (Elemental Saga Doriado). Two openers independently guessed "one every fourish boxes" on camera before any data existed, which is close to what we measured. There are 14 Starlight types in the set: 9 standard frame and 5 Over-frame.
Is The Great Gallant Bandit worth chasing through packs?
No. The Over-frame Starlight Bandit is the set jackpot at about $422.52, and we saw exactly one Over-frame Starlight of any kind in 312 documented box packs. With five cards in that pool a specific one is roughly a 65-box proposition — about $3,700 of product at today's $56.92 box price, nine times the card's own value. Buy the single. If you only want the art, the Over-frame Ultra is $104.72 and the Secret Rare is $68.99.
What is the Over-frame extended art pull rate in Beyond the Brave?
Five cards in the set have the Over-frame treatment — The Great Gallant Bandit, Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed, CXyz Hope Chaos Barian Dragon, Elemental Saga Doriado and Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse — and each exists as an Over-frame Ultra Rare and a far rarer Over-frame Starlight. We logged 4 Over-frame Ultras in 13 boxes (≈1 per 3.3) and 1 Over-frame Starlight in the same 312 packs. Be careful reading that as a steady rate: five of the eight above-Secret cards in the whole sample came out of one six-box half case, and the other seven boxes produced three.
Do Beyond the Brave boxes pay for themselves?
Usually not. The one opener who kept a running tally spent $95.24 on five 4-pack mini boxes plus six loose packs and finished near $60 (63%) — about $25 of which was the five promo tokens rather than pulled cards. Scaled per pack, a 24-pack booster box with no chase card returns roughly $32 against $56.92. A single Starlight (standard average $47.78, Over-frame average $194.98) takes a box past break-even on its own, and about two boxes in three do not contain one.
How does Beyond the Brave compare to Blazing Dominion?
The structure is the same — 24 packs, 9 cards, ~2 Secrets a box, a Starlight every three to four boxes. The difference is where the value sits. Blazing Dominion had a genuinely expensive Secret in Fyus Harmonia; Beyond the Brave has ten Secrets with a $7.43 median, so nearly all of this set's money is concentrated in five Over-frame cards and 14 Starlights. It is also the cheaper box — $69.00 in release week and $56.92 now, where Blazing Dominion was $89.20 in its own release week — so a flatter floor and a much higher ceiling. If you want the Japanese-print comparison instead, see our Chaos Origin OCG pull rates — two 30-pack Japanese Beyond the Brave boxes in this sample produced zero extended arts and zero Prismatic Secret Rares, and the OCG ceiling tops out near $46 against $422 in English.
Disclaimer: Pull rates are community estimates aggregated from 350 Beyond the Brave packs — 13 booster boxes, eight 4-pack mini boxes and six loose packs — with per-row denominators stated above. Konami does not publish official Yu-Gi-Oh! pull rates. Prices are PriceCharting ungraded market values as of 25 October 2026, 16 days after release, and on a set this new they run above TCGplayer market and move fast — verify current prices before buying or selling.
