Most Expensive Green Magic Cards 2026: Top 20

Why Green MTG Cards Hold Value

Green is Magic's colour of nature, ramp, and creature power — and its vintage Reserved List holdings span from the iconic Power Nine (Mox Emerald) to original dual lands to Gaea's Cradle, the most liquid Reserved List land in Commander. Green's price list is notable for the concentration of dual lands (five dual lands appear, three versions of Tropical Island) and the breadth of valuable Legends enchantments (Sylvan Library, Living Plane, Concordant Crossroads). Gaea's Cradle stands out as the only post-Alpha card in the top 20 — from Urza's Saga (1998) — yet still trades at $1,700 raw with 172 annual transactions, by far the most liquid card on this page.

Gaea's Cradle note: Gaea's Cradle has 172 annual transactions — the most liquid card on this page. It's on the Reserved List (Urza's Saga, 1998) and a staple in every green Commander deck, providing enormous mana from creature-heavy boards. Its combination of high liquidity, solid raw price, and Reserved List protection makes it one of the most practical Reserved List investments in all of Magic.

Green Dual Lands

Green appears on three original dual lands — Tropical Island (blue/green), Savannah (white/green), and Taiga (red/green). All are Reserved List. Tropical Island is the most expensive and most played, anchoring Legacy RUG Delver and Bant strategies.

Tropical Island (Blue/Green)

Alpha at $6,348 / $10,606 PSA 10 with 10 annual trades. Beta $3,169 / $5,984 with 18 trades. Unlimited $949 / $1,252 with 75 annual sales — offering solid liquidity at under $1,000. One of the most-played Legacy lands alongside Volcanic Island and Underground Sea.

Savannah (White/Green)

Alpha $2,944 / $9,032 PSA 10 — a notable 3.07x PSA premium indicating thin gem-mint supply. Beta $2,720 / $3,032 with 13 trades. Unlimited $612 / $1,181 with 55 annual sales.

Taiga (Red/Green)

Alpha $4,250 / $4,931 PSA 10 (modest 1.16x premium). Beta $2,581 / $5,100 — Beta actually commands a higher PSA 10 value than Alpha for Taiga. Unlimited $707 / $1,076 with 46 annual sales.

Mox Emerald Breakdown

Mox Emerald produces green mana for free. Among the five Moxen, Mox Emerald occupies the middle ground — cheaper than Mox Sapphire and Mox Jet (blue/black have stronger Vintage applications), but more expensive than Mox Pearl and Mox Ruby (white/red are weaker Vintage colours). Alpha at $7,259 / $15,708 PSA 10 (2.16x premium). Beta $5,160 / $14,189 PSA 10 (2.75x premium — notably higher than Alpha). Unlimited $3,649 / $6,294 with 50 annual sales. The Beta PSA 10 premium over Alpha is unusual and suggests either a particularly thin Alpha PSA 10 population or exceptionally strong Beta gem-mint demand for this card.

Gaea's Cradle

The standout non-Alpha/Beta card on this list, Gaea's Cradle from Urza's Saga (1998) produces mana equal to the number of creatures you control. At $1,700 raw / $2,380 PSA 10 with 172 annual transactions, it's the most liquid Reserved List land outside of the original dual lands. Every green Commander deck wants Gaea's Cradle. The card is banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage, meaning its demand is almost entirely Commander-driven — a format with millions of active players globally.

The 1.40x PSA premium suggests the graded market is less developed than for Alpha/Beta cards. Given 172 annual trades, there should be a reasonable supply of high-grade copies — the opportunity is finding near-mint examples at raw prices and submitting them for grading, where a PSA 9 or 10 can command meaningful premiums over raw.

Birds of Paradise Alpha

The most iconic green creature and a zero-ramp spell: for one green mana, you get a 0/1 flyer that taps for any colour of mana. Alpha at $2,921 / $5,059 PSA 10 with 10 annual trades. Birds of Paradise has been reprinted extensively but only the Alpha printing (from 1993) carries significant collector value. Its Reserved List status (on the list as of 2002) protects the Alpha printing from direct competition with reprints.

Buying Tips for Green Magic Cards

Gaea's Cradle: Best Liquid Reserved List Entry

At $1,700 raw with 172 annual transactions, Gaea's Cradle offers the best combination of accessibility, liquidity, and Reserved List protection in green. It's an easy buy and an easy sell — the ideal starter Reserved List card for collectors new to the vintage Magic market.

Mox Emerald Unlimited: Affordable Power Nine

At $3,649 raw with 50 annual sales, Mox Emerald Unlimited gives Power Nine exposure at a fraction of Alpha/Beta prices. The same Reserved List protection applies, and the competitive utility is identical for Vintage players.

Sylvan Library: High Volume, Low Price

Sylvan Library at $172 raw / $284 PSA 10 with 105 annual sales is the most liquid Legends card on this page. It's a Commander staple that sees regular play and consistent trading. At under $200 raw, it's an accessible entry point for collectors interested in Reserved List Legends cards.
